Apartment Review for La Cantera - Sacramento, CA

It may seem pretty on the outside, however once you sign the lease the real problems surface. It's like marrying the wrong person and you see who they are the next morning ... after it's too late.

They had an excellent handy man Ricardo I think was his name... but they would hardly ever tell him when a problem was reported. The security they had at the time of my residence was a joke. They slept with the female tenants in the model apartment, they sold marijuana to some of the tenants, and when a criminal incident was reported, they went up the accused and shook hands and said everything was cool, despite several witnesses saying otherwise. They later shared a beer while the "officers" were on duty.

During my stay there, my neighbors entire ceiling caved in, due to rotted wood from a plumbing leak that was never addressed. He had to move because the conditions were UNLIVABLE, the ceiling and paint and stretched and sagged all over their kitchen and dining room. He moved and they tried to charge him rent for the months after he left.

My other neighbor had a mold problem in her bathroom, and the ceiling started caving in and the mold was exposed and made her and her roomate very sick. One of the girls had just adopted a baby kitten who got sick from the mold and almost died. After over a month of nobody addressing it, they felt they were forced to move because they couldn't live with it.

I made the decision to move when money orders came up missing and I was one of the unlucky few who's rent was stolen. They admitted they lost a number of money orders, but they told the tenants we had to repay because they didn't know who's were lost or not. I refuse to repay and I intend to take them to court.

DO NOT RENT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
