Apartment Review for Shorepark - Sacramento, CA

I have lived at the Shorepark Apartments on Pocket Road, Sacramento, for over 3 years (May 2002 - Present Dec 2005). I pay over $1000 per month for two bedrooms apartment located upstairs.

Over the past two years, there have been two attempts to break into my car. Last week, the window was finally broken out and my possessions stolen. In September 2004, I actually witnessed another burglary attempt just across from my location. It is now not uncommon to see strange cars and people cruising the parking lots late at night. I no longer feel safe in the complex.

Even though the complex has a front gate, it doesn't seem to stop foot traffic from either Pocket Road or the Sacramento River located just behind both compounds. I have talked to several tenants who share my same concerns. The general consensus is that the management doesn't seem to care. The local security patrol is ineffective and the complex is turning into a place that is no longer safe.

The general appearance of the complex is somewhat tattered. Most of the covered parking has debris on its roof. The landscaping is often unkempt. The maintenance crew is very nice, but appear to be over worked. The management is a different story. They are rude and unconcerned. I have had a few issues with the management/complex and was stunned by their lack of professionalism and follow through.

Lastly, I seem to have a continual battle with mold. It is ubiquitous and seems to grow at alarming rates. Without constant attention, it can get out of hand very quickly.

I would not recommend the Shorepark apartments located on Pocket Road, Sacramento, CA to anyone.
