Apartment Review
Not worth it

As a first year freshman, I was looking for somewhere that was safe and professional. I got neither. I signed up with the understanding that they "Room-mate Match" using a survey, since you live in a completely OPEN loft- No bedroom, No privacy. I had 2 other room mates. They did NOT even LOOK at my questionaire and instead matched me where it was most convenient. One of my room mates turned out to put me in dangerous situations (Such as bringing in theifs, drug dealers, etc) and also saying words such as "The N-Word" and being extremely racist towards my and my other room mate race. Trying to adjust to the "college" life without parents is difficult for any student, especially when you are recieving no back up or SAFETY from the leasing office. They REFUSED to move me or my other room mate (Who also wanted to get OUT of there), even after two meetings and countless phone calls from my motherand my room mates sister, who were sincerely worried about our safety (As were we). I could not believe that I was put in a situation like this and that the leasing office did not care one bit. My mother had to call THEIR manager before I was moved, after months and months of me pleading to get out of that room. I would NEVER reccomend this place to ANY one who is serving your first year, unless you are signing up with a friend. They do not fulfill their inital offers of a room mate "match making" service. From a more objective point of view, I would not recommend this place to any one other than foreign exchange students or extremely quiet students. This is not a place for partying, don't know whether that is a good or a bad thing but I do know they are EXTREMELY strict about noise complaints and any sort of large social gathering. This is one subject they are very, very safe about. Parents can rest easy knowing that their students will not be partying..in their own apartment complex at least. Of course, the CA's (Who are students also) are above all of these rules. I knew one CA who was dating a student, another who often drank with the under age students at parties. There is a STRICT no pet rule, but another CA has a pet cat (Although she does have a medical note stating she needs an animal for companionship...does this mean I can get one too?). Simply put, this place is brand new and I think they have a lot of kinks to work out with organization and also the supervisor's lack of managing the student office staff. I will NOT renew my lease here or recommend it to any one.
